Material scientist and chemical engineer.  Anita is a Scientific and Technical Consultant with CSI: Create. Solve. Innovate. LLC, a company she founded in 2015, and advises clients across different industries including new materials, process and product development, prototyping, failure analysis, etc. She has been named as an inventor and co-inventor on more than 50 patents and patent applications pending and has authored many peer-reviewed publications, books and book chapters. She holds Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and M.Sc. in Materials Science, both from University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA, and M.Sc. in Polymer Science from University of Skopje, N. Macedonia.

Dwight Akerman

Dr. Dwight Akerman is the founding Chief Medical Editor of Review of Myopia Management. Dr. Akerman graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry and earned an MBA from the University of Texas. He has achieved Diplomate status in the American Academy of Optometry Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses & Refractive Technologies, Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators, and Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association. He was the Vice President & Global Head of Professional Affairs & Business Development for Alcon before retiring from this role in 2019. Dr. Akerman is the immediate past Chairman of the Illinois College of Optometry Board of Trustees.

Rami Burstein

Dr. Burstein is a Professor of Anesthesia and Neuroscience at Harvard Medical School where he is part of the Harvard Brain Science Initiative.  He is Vice Chairman of Research in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Academic Director of the Harvard Medical Faculty Physician Comprehensive Headache Center. Dr. Burstein discovered that certain green wavelengths of light can be used to reduce headache pain and photophobia. He is the inventor of the Allay lamp.

Michael Iuvone

Michael Iuvone, PhD

Dr. Iuvone received his BS and PhD degrees in neuroscience from the University of Florida.  He then did a postdoctoral fellowship in the Laboratory of Preclinical Pharmacology, National Institute of Mental Health.  He joined the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine in 1978 as Assistant Professor of Pharmacology.  He received an adjunct appointment in Ophthalmology in 1980 and is currently Professor of Ophthalmology and Adjunct Professor of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology.  He is the former Director of Research at the Emory Eye Center.  Dr. Iuvone’s research has focused on experimental therapeutics for central nervous system disorders, particularly those affecting vision.  His research studies have examined the circadian organization of the retina and roles of circadian clocks in retina-physiology and ocular pathology, the role of dopamine, dopaminergic drugs, and circadian clocks in the several ocular disorders, including myopia and diabetic retinopathy, the development of drugs to prevent vision loss from ocular trauma and traumatic brain injury, and experimental light therapy for retinopathy of prematurity.  He has published over 200 research papers and co-edited a book entitled “The Retina and Circadian Rhythms.”
